It’s May which means it’s Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month!

Why was the month of May chosen for this celebration? Asian immigrants played a vital role in America’s transcontinental railroad. The railroad was completed on May 10, 1869, and one of the reasons why May was picked for honoring Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander heritage.
