“To dust thou art and to dust you shall return.” These are the words the priest says as they administer ashes onto the believer’s forehead.
Ash Wednesday is a solemn day where we are reminded that no matter how much money, status, or power you have, you are human and in the end we will all return to the earth.
This day reminds each of us of how temporary life really is. It also reminds us of the wise words of Helen Keller, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.”
