When your workout routine is exciting you are more likely to keep up your exercise regimen. This is why dancing is the perfect Mindful tip for improving your health. There are numerous health benefits of dancing. Dancing helps you loose weight and it builds up your upper body strength. It gets your blood pumping, which is great for your heart and lungs. It also gives your core muscles (your abs and back) a great workout. The dance movements stretch your arms and legs, and it improves your flexibility and coordination. Dancing can improve your mind as well. So find your favorite rhythm and take advantage of the health benefits of dancing.

According to many studies, dancing can lower the risk of dementia. While dancing your body releases endorphins, which can lower stress and depression as well as boost confidence. Plus, going to a dancing class is a great way to meet new people.

Listed below are a few health benefits of dancing  based on the type of dance

Ballet is not only a beautiful dance it’s also a great way to tone your body and improve your posture. Consider taking Bar Method classes, which focus on stretching exercises while utilizing the “ballet-barre.” In these classes, your thighs, upper body, feet, and core get a thorough work out. All your stretching can burn up to 400 calories in just one hour. Not sure if you want to attend classes? Consider implementing some of these basic ballet-barre moves into your workout routine.

Looking for a fast-paced workout? Consider hip-hop dancing. Many dance studios offer classes for kids and adults. Most instructors also incorporate all kinds of music from R&B and hip-hop to pop music. Different hip-hop dances include the following: dubstep, house, and vogue. No matter what type of hip-hop dance you pick you could potentially burn up to 650 calories in just one hour. If you don’t prefer hip-hop dancing consider simply incorporating some of the hip-hop moves into your exercise regimen. Here are some helpful hip-hop dance exercises.

Whether you take Puerto Rican, Cuban, African, or Caribbean-based salsa, you will definitely get a workout. You can burn between 300- 600 calories in just one hour. The eight beat measure dance is great for your coordination, balance, and flexibility. It also tones your muscles. Don’t have a partner? Don’t worry! Having a dance partner is not usually required for most studios as people usually switch throughout the dance session.

Ballroom dancing is another social type of dance that requires a partner. Fortunately, you usually don’t need to bring a partner to participate. In fact, you’ll be socializing with new people and this has great health benefits, including lowering stress. Ballroom dancing can also prevent osteoporosis as well as keep your mind healthy. There are plenty of ballroom dances to choose from including the cha-cha, foxtrot samba, tango, and the waltz. And with most of these dances, you can burn 200- 400 calories in just thirty minutes.
