Families, especially our children, are experiencing incredible levels of stress these days. Families the nucleus of a child’s life must address how violence and technology can impact the health of their children. Overstressed children patterns can lead to adult stress patterns as we mature into adulthood.Information overload can also be stressful in our technological age of virtual communication and entertainment through the Internet, smartphones, video games, and television. Here are a few overstressed children  symptoms that most kids have in common.

Overstressed Children Symptoms

Physical Symptoms

  • Headaches
  • Neck, back pain
  • GI problems: upset stomach, cramps, gas, diarrhea, constipation
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Asthma or shortness of breath
  • Weight gain or loss
  • Skin problems
  • Suppressed immune system: more flu, colds, infections
  • Inhibits growth

Emotional Symptoms

  • Overreaction
  • Anxiety or nervousness (butterflies in stomach)
