
There are over 36.7 million people around the world with HIV. And since 1984, over 35 million people have died of AIDS or HIV. Fortunately today, World AIDs Day is a day to celebrate awareness about the illness.
The History of World AIDs Day
World AIDS Day is important because “it reminds the public and the government that HIV has not gone away.” The day was first founded in 1988 and it has been an important day to spread awareness about this disease ever since.
