Our daughter is a critical doctor who works in an ICU. She called me the other night telling me she was having a tough night at work. A 22-year-old woman had hung herself and was brain dead. Our daughter had talked to the family about donating her organs since she was so young and healthy. I cannot imagine what the young woman’s mother and father were going through. Their daughter had a rough patch in her young life and her pain was so tremendous she decided to end her precious life. I was devastated just imagining what that family was experiencing.
The family chose to donate her organs to save other people’s lives so other families could experience joy and healing as they sweltered in the bowels of hell. God bless my daughter, the young woman and her family. There is a famous saying, “There by the grace of God go I.” Each of our lives and the lives of those we love can change in a moment. But there is some comfort in knowing people are here to guide us through our moments of darkness.
