Sanctuary at ‘Mission: Wolf’ – Explore.org LIVECAM

Shaman’s Rock is a natural outcropping that became the heart of the original Mission: Wolf sanctuary. Rising 100 feet above the main grounds, it looks out across the entire southern end of the Wet Mountain Valley. In the 1990s, enclosing it within a three-acre habitat for the wolves felt like a major victory. Every wolf who has lived here has been drawn to the rock’s sweeping views, and it’s appeared in countless iconic photos—including the banner image on missionwolf.org. Shaman, the gray wolf who inspired the Ambassador Wolf program, is the namesake of this remarkable place.

About ‘Mission: Wolf’:

Mission: Wolf connects people with nature using hands-on experiential education. Through volunteer internships and national education programs, we inspire individuals to become stewards of the earth. While providing a home for rescued wolves and horses, we create opportunities for growth through community service and personal interactions with animals.  For more info check out their website here.
