Ever heard of Mindful Technology™? Between smart phones, tablets, laptops, and HD televisions, millions of Americans are constantly engaged with their electronic devices. Technology can be a great addition to anyone’s life, but it can also be bad for your mental health. Here are some technology detox tips you don’t wanna miss.
A survey by TeleNav, a technology firm, says that 40 percent of Americans feel lonely without the Internet and 53 percent of Americans feel upset when deprived from their electronic devices. Dr. Rosen, an expert in technology psychology, tells Yahoo that these feelings may lead to “iDisorder.” A tech-obsessed person may live in “a state of artificial urgency” like texting during dinner or checking their email in the middle of the night.
If you find yourself constantly using electronic devices than maybe it’s time to consider a technology detox. Try giving up all computers, televisions, phones, and tablets for a set amount of time.
