Welcome to the first of my musings on food.
But it’s not really about food.
If you are coming here to learn how to lose 30 pounds in 30 days, you may want to click your mouse somewhere else. And when (not if) that latest too-good-to-be-true diet plan fails (the plan fails, not YOU) then I hope you’ll return, ready to start digging in.
Here we’ll be chatting about your relationship with food, your body, your emotions, and your soul.
In my role as a psychologist, I’ve been helping people with “food issues” — from the 90-pound teen to the 380-pound adult~ for over 20 years. What my brave clients have taught me is that many of us are acting out unconscious dramas in our relationship with food. The ways that we view food and treat our bodies are symbolic of stories, messages, memories, and relationships from our past.
My hope is to help you unravel some of these mysteries. I’ll be sharing stories of struggle and triumph and how regular folks are breaking free from years of feeling stuck and hopeless. Mindful eating is an important tool in the journey.
So if you are tired of the diet-binge roller coaster and ready to dig into your heart and soul (instead of digging into that fourth bowl of cereal), then pull up a chair and stay awhile.
