What would we do without the gifts of migrant workers? As our country continues to change migrant worker laws we begin to see the essential role these workers play in our economy and our food system. This year we watched tomatoes, squash, grapes and other fruits and vegetables rot on their vines because there were not enough migrant workers to pick them for our farmers. As we continue to struggle with issues surrounding migrant workers we must realize the critical link they play in our food supply. Today let us celebrate the contributions and efforts of migrant workers as we work to establish justice and fairness for our migrant workers globally.
