Women’s History Month

Women’s History Month began in 1978 as a weeklong celebration of women, and in 1987, the National Women’s History Project (NWHP) successfully petitioned Congress to expand the week to a full month.

Why not celebrate this month by reading a biography of a female historical figure that you would like to learn more about? If you need any ideas, Harriet Tubman is one of our favorites! So go and visit a history museum and learn more about things women have endured throughout history. You can also talk to the female elders in your life to learn more about the women in your own family history.
