In the US, there are thousands of children in need of a loving home and mindful family. November, National Adoption Awareness Month, is the time to spread awareness about this need.

The History of National Adoption Month

The history of adoption awareness dates back to 1976. It started as a state-wide awareness month, in Massachusetts. But, overtime Adoption Awareness Month was recognized on a national level. The first national month of adoption awareness was first celebrated in 1995. President Bill Clinton was the first president to proclaim November as National Adoption Month.
