National I Love Horses Day

Let’s celebrate the majestic horse. Horses are beautiful and noble creatures. I have had the privilege of being involved in the breeding and training of horses most of my life.Horses have transformed my life. They have healed many mental, spiritual and physical problems I have faced in this life. Horses could change your life too. On National Horse Day, I hope you can visit a horse somewhere near you.

  • Horses have the largest eyes of any land mammal. Horse’s eyes are on the side of their head and they are capable of seeing nearly 360 degrees at one time. This helps them see predators that sneak up behind them so they can run and protect themselves.
  • Horses only eat plants. They like sweet flavors and will usually won’t eat anything sour or bitter. Horses produce approximately 10 gallons of saliva a day, and they drink at least 25 gallons of water a day.
  • Horses are social animals and will get lonely if kept alone. They like their friends and are herd animals. They grieve when another horse companion dies. Horses have different facial expressions like we do. Horses have excellent memories.
  • The gestation for a horse to be born takes almost a year, 11-12 months. And a baby horses can walk and run a few hours after birth.
