This month is a time to celebrate Irish culture and the great impact Irish Americans have had in the United States.
From 1820 to 1930, 4.5 million people emigrated from Ireland to the U.S., most traveling before and during Ireland’s 1845 Potato Blight. Their descendants have made a great impact on our culture. In fact, over ten of our U.S. presidents are said to have Irish ancestry. Get in on the celebrations by attending parades or seeing Irish history exhibits in museums. There’s a lot of amazing things to learn!
