National Go Barefoot Day

Going barefoot is good for your feet. Each foot has 26 bones, 33 joints and more than 100 muscles, tendons, and ligaments. The soles of your feet have over 20,000 nerve endings. There are more nerve endings in your feet than any comparable size on your body. Eighty percent of your foot is exposed to the floor when you walk barefoot.

For National Go Barefoot Day, slip off your shoes at home, at work, or in the yard to feel the soft carpet, cool tile, or tingly grass against your bare feet. Just feel that massive amount of information your little feet are sending to your brain.
